Serving Kennebec and Somerset Counties in Maine

Family Violence Project Logo

Family Violence Project provides temporary emergency housing for people fleeing domestic abuse or who are homeless because of an abusive domestic partner. Shelter residents live in a cooperative, communal space with minimal supervision by staff. Shelter advocates offer individual advocacy and group support.

Advocates will assist with safety planning, referrals, and assistance in connecting with other community-based resources. Some basic food and personal items are donated. Any supplemental food or supplies will be purchased by the resident. If you feel unsafe in your home, please contact our helpline today at 877-890-7788.

Support FVP

Thanks to your generosity, we can continue to provide so many needed and important services: our helpline, advocacy work, support groups, shelter & supportive housing, prevention & training programs, children’s work, and Menswork, a program that works directly with abusers who want to change their behavior.
