Family Violence Project Logo

When you donate, it helps so much. Because of your generosity, we can continue to provide so many needed and important services like our helpline, advocacy work, support groups, shelter, transitional housing, prevention and training programs, children’s work, and programs that work directly with abusers who want to change their behavior.

Your gift also shows us that you care about and believe in what we do, and that means a lot to us. Whatever you can give is much appreciated. Donate online or mail your gift to:

    • Laundry detergent
    • Household cleaning supplies

    • Alarm clocks
    • Cookware (pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc.)

  2. Donate your used cellphone. The Family Violence Project is accepting donations of used cell phones that are not currently activated or connected to a cellular service provider. Your donated cell phone will be used in one of two ways. If it’s in good working condition, it will be cleared of all information and used as an emergency phone by someone experiencing domestic violence. Cell phones not in good working condition, or that have been collected in excess of the needs of our emergency program, will be used as part of a fundraising effort sponsored by Shelter Alliance, a program of cell phone recycling company, GRC Wireless Recycling. Through Shelter Alliance, nonprofit organizations raise funds by recycling used cell phones donated by businesses and community members to benefit participating nonprofits. For more information, please contact Jaime at [email protected].
  3. Through Books Behind Bars, The Family Violence Project collects and donates used books to the inmate library at the Kennebec County Correctional Facility. Most acceptable are modern, up-to-date books on self-improvement, or instructional books about arts and crafts, sewing, carpentry, etc. Books that address the effects of addiction and abuse are appreciated. Novels are welcome, although books with gratuitous violence are screened out. For more information, please contact Robin at [email protected]
