Get Involved

Your support makes a difference. When you give to Family Violence Project, you're helping survivors of domestic abuse find safety, healing, and hope. Your generosity supports vital programs like our 24/7 helpline, emergency shelter, legal advocacy, support groups, school prevention programs, and ChangeWork — our program for those working to change abusive behavior.

No matter how you choose to give, you’re showing survivors — and our whole team — that you care. Thank you.

Attend Our Annual Fundraising Gala!

Family Violence Project invites you to the third annual Paint the Town Purple Gala, a fundraising event to support survivors of domestic abuse.

Join us on Friday, October 24 at the Augusta Elks Lodge, 397 Civic Center Drive, Augusta, Maine. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy dinner, awards, a silent auction, dancing, and live music by the Pat Pepin Project.

Guests are encouraged to wear purple formal attire to show solidarity, though it is not required.

This evening is more than a fundraiser. It is a time to stand together as a community, honor the strength of survivors, and raise awareness about domestic violence. Your participation helps ensure vital services continue for those in need.

Make a Financial Contribution

  • Single Donation – A one-time gift, either general or as a tribute to someone you know.

  • Monthly Giving – Ongoing support that’s easy to set up and meaningful to those we serve.

Volunteer

We couldn’t provide the services that we do without the ongoing support of a large, active volunteer network. There are many ways that volunteers donate their time and skills to support our agency and the people we serve.

Check out our Volunteer section to learn how you can help.

Proceeds from your fundraiser can be donated directly to Family Violence Project and will support life-changing programs for people in our community.

  • Gift cards (gas, food, clothing)

  • Diapers & baby wipes

  • Laundry detergent

  • Paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins)
